The Mood and its Relationship to Disease
The mood is not good enough to survive the disease, they said a study where we followed the evolution of over 100 patients suffering from some kind of tumor (head and neck) who were undergoing radiation therapy.
The study was conducted at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), and consisted of a questionnaire on the mood of these patients, and although many reflect a good mood, they were optimistic 646 died later.
Anyway attempts to test the ability of the psyche to influence the healing of physical ailments are still open, as there are specialists who still cling to that theory. Moreover, many physicians recommend alternative therapies such as meditation or reiki along with traditional therapies.
Without doubt it is an endless debate, but the important thing is that the patient is given the opportunity to receive psychosocial support or some other type, if it so chooses.
